Event Overview:
The BBC Studios Showcase is a annual four-day international event, welcoming over 1,000 global TV executives and buyers to preview BBC Studios' content slate. Hosted in Liverpool at the ACC and M&S Bank Arena, the event features exclusive screenings, global premieres, high-profile Q&A sessions, talent-led panels, branded activations, and immersive networking events, culminating in a spectacular gala dinner with broadcast-level production values.
In 2021, due to the pandemic, the Showcase pivoted to a fully virtual format. Live-streamed across four days and three time zones, the event delivered a bespoke schedule of content premieres, talent interviews, presentations, and buyer-to-sales team connections – all produced to broadcast standards
My Role:
I was responsible for leading the creative development and delivery of branded activations for key BBC Studios titles, as well as co-leading the production and logistics for all screening and premiere content.
In 2021, I played a key role in transitioning the event to its virtual format. Initially planned for studio filming, we rapidly shifted to remote production, securing a new supplier and reconfiguring all schedules and formats in record time. This resulted in a high-spec, virtual Showcase that maintained BBC Studios’ global reputation for quality and creativity.
End Result:
BBC Studios Showcase is considered one of the most prestigious and unmissable events on the international media calendar. Across each iteration, I collaborated closely with internal teams, external agencies and suppliers to deliver world-class content experiences — consistently meeting creative briefs, upholding brand standards, and delivering within budget.
